NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team lost their home conference opener to Kennesaw State 5-2 in a match played Friday at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.
The Owls picked up the first point of the match as they swept all three doubles matches.
In singles, KSU won four of the six matches to clinch the 5-2 victory over the Bruins. Belmont did have two singles wins. At number one, Rodrigo Amaral defeated Simon Janik 3-6, 6-0, 6-3, while at number two, Rafael Matos beat Gianni Kubin 6-3, 6-1.
Belmont (0-4) is back in action Saturday afternoon as they host Mercer at Wildwood Tennis Club. The match will start once the women's match is completed, approximately 4:00pm.
