JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- The Belmont men's tennis team fell to Jacksonville State 5-2 in an OVC match held Saturday in Jacksonville, Alabama.
JSU captured the first point of the match as they won two of the three doubles matches. The lone Belmont win came at number three as Henrik Claesson and Bruno Silva defeated Felipe Diaz and Felipe Watanabe 9-7.
In singles, the Gamecocks picked up wins at positions one, three, four, and six to clinch 5-2 victory. Belmont's wins came at positions two and five. At number two, Henrique Norbiato defeated Axel Sundberg 64, 6-4, while at number five Navarrao Veys beat Felipe Wenzel 7-5, 6-3.
Belmont (1-8, 0-1) returns to the court tomorrow as they play at Tennessee Tech starting at 12:00 noon.
