Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont Baseball (29-12, 15-5) dropped game two of the series to Eastern Illinois Saturday, 3-1.
Behind a two-run double from Treysen Vavra EIU jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning.
Spencer Petett (Tompkinsville, Ky.) singled to left field in the bottom of the fifth, for Belmont's first hit of the day.
A pair of singles from Petett and Dom Veltri (Clarksville, Tenn.) started the eighth inning for the Bruins before Jamie Ritchie (Buford, Ga.) loaded the bases with a single to left center.
Drew Ferguson (Knoxville, Tenn.) singled to score Petett and put Belmont on the board, 3-1, keeping the bases loaded, but the Bruins left the runners stranded.
Belmont will complete the series with Eastern Illinois tomorrow at 1:00p.m.
