Baseball Wins Season Opener Against Bowling Green

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont Baseball (1-0) capitalized on two Bowling Green errors in the sixth, to win the season opener 2-1 Saturday afternoon. 

The Falcons got on the board first with Andrew Kubuski's two-out double to score T.J. Losby.

Belmont responded in the sixth. Junior Alec Diamond (Kennesaw, Ga.) scored first for the Bruins off a Falcon error. Freshman Nick Egli (Brentwood, Tenn.) singled up the middle to score junior Drew Ferguson (Knoxville, Tenn.) and put the Bruins ahead, 2-1.

Junior Austin Coley (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) went six innings on the mound giving up four hits and striking out three. Junior Greg Brody (Dacula, Ga.) earned his first collegiate save as he closed the game, going one inning and giving up just one hit.
