NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont (6-7) fell to Southeast Missouri, 11-1 in its conference opener Friday night.
Southeast Missouri got things started early with a pair of runs in the first.
An RBI double from Tyler Walsh (Evansville, Ind.) in the second scored Zach Hald (Roswell, Ga.) to put the Bruins on the board. The Redhawks scored another run in the bottom half of the inning off an RBI single from Cole Bieser to take a 3-1 lead.
The Redhawks added a pair of runs in the fifth and three in the seventh. Behind a pair of singles in the eighth, Southeast Missouri add three more runs to extend their lead 11-1.
Belmont will continue the series with Southeast Missouri tomorrow at 3:00pm.
