NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont fell 6-3 to Southeast Missouri on Saturday afternoon.
A two-out RBI double from Nick Egli (Brentwood, Tenn.) put the Bruins ahead 1-0 in the first. The Redhawks responded with four runs in the bottom of the second.
A leadoff home run from Drew Ferguson (Knoxville, Tenn.) in the third cut Southeast Missouri's lead to two.
SEMO's Branden Boggetto hit a solo homer in the sixth to extend the Redhawks lead 5-2.
Alec Diamond (Kennesaw, Ga.) came off the bench to lead off the eighth with a single to right. Jamie Ritchie (Buford, Ga.) hit a two-out double to score Diamond, cutting SEMO's lead to two, 5-3.
In the bottom half of the inning, Redhawks' Matt Tellor hit a leadoff homer to take a 6-3 lead.
Dan Ludwig (Naperville, Tenn.) piched a complete game. The left-hander struck out four and only walked one.
