Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tyler Walsh ended a classic pitcher's duel with a solo shot over the left field fence in the bottom of the ninth Friday night, leading Belmont to a 2-1 win over Tennessee Tech.
Austin Coley pitched eight solid innings, and Christopher Carroll got the Bruins out of a ninth inning jam to earn the win.
Belmont struck first in the sixth on a RBI double from William Dodd, scoring Matt Beaty, who had walked to lead off the inning.
The Golden Eagles tied it in the seventh behind a double from Zach Zarzour that drove in Anthony El Chibani.
The score remained tied until Walsh delivered his ninth inning heroics.
The Bruins will conclude the series with TTU tomorrow at 1:00pm. The team's three seniors (James Buckelew, Blake Harvey, and Spencer Petett) will be honored before the game.
