Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- After three games of hot hitting, the Bruins were out hit in game two of the three game series against the SIUE Cougars. The Bruins lost 16-8 on Friday at Rose Park evening the series at 1-1.
Drew Ferguson went 3-5 at the plate highlighted by two doubles with 2 runs and 2 RBI.
SIUE took an early four run lead in the first and even with 8 runs on 12 hits, they couldn't pass the Cougars 19 hits. The Cougars retired 4 Bruin pitchers, Aaron Quillen (Kingsport, Tenn.) wears the loss in todays game.
The Bruins scored two runs in the first and second off hits from Tyler Walsh, Tyler Fullerton, and Drew Ferguson.
They tack on another run in the bottom of the fourth with a solo homerun by Brennan Washington (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) over the left center fence. This was Washington's second homerun of the series.
Bruins put one run onthe board again in the 6th with Kyle Conger (Brentwood, Tenn.) leading off with a one out single to left. Diamond followe suite with a single up the middle. Conger scored on Ferguson's fielders choice.
In the eighth, Desi Ammons (Hohenwald, Tenn.) came in to hit for Diamond and provided with a two out double down the right line. Drew Ferguson then followed with a double to left center plating Ammons. Matt Beaty stepped up to the plate with the third straight hit, a single to right field to plate Ferguson. Despite the two out effort, the Bruins couldn't gain a lead.
The Bruins return to Rose Park tomorrow at 1PM to try and win the series against the SIUE Cougars.
