Box Score JACKSON, Tenn.-- Bruins score four runs on four hits in game eight of the OVC Baseball tournament but are unable to out hit Morehead who scored eight runs on 15 hits. The Bruins go down 8-4 on Friday at The Ballpark in Jackson.
The Bruins fought for a lead in the first inning after Morehead had jumped out of the gate scoring two runs. In the bottom half of the inning the Bruins responded with three runs of their own but were then held to seven scoreless innings by starter Craig Pearcy. An RBI double in the bottom of the ninth by Desi Ammons broke up Morehead State's scoreless streak but Pearcy then shut down the Bruins bats to secure the win.
The Bruins will now face Southeast Missouri in game 9 of the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Tournament on Saturday at 12:00 PM. If the Bruins win game 9, they will then have another shot at Morehead State. A loss in Saturday's game with result in elimination.
