OVC Opener Loss

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis teams fell in their conference opener to visiting Jacksonville State 5-2 in a match played Friday afternoon at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.

JSU won the doubles point as they earned wins at positions two and three.  The match at number one doubles was not completed since the doubles point had been determined.

In singles, the Gamecocks posted wins at positions three through six to clinch the 5-2 victory.  The Bruins did score wins at the number one and two positions.  At one, junior Cedric Dujacquier beat Pedro Wagner 6-4, 6-2, while at number two, senior Robin Demasse defeated Mathias Chaim 6-3, 6-3. 

The men's tennis team (4-6, 0-1) is back in action tomorrow as they host Tennessee Tech at 12:00 noon at Centennial Sportsplex. (Please note the time change for tomorrow's match).
