CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Belmont men's tennis team (1-1) pulled off a close win down the stretch on Friday night, knocking off Xavier (0-2), 4-3.
BU claimed the doubles point with wins coming from the duos of Stephen Goldman (Lutz, Fla.) and Zak Kahn (London, United Kingdom) at No. 2 and Bruno Russo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Vincent Sterkens (Antwerp, Belgium) at No. 3.
Belmont battled down to the wire in singles action with Hendrik Inno (Somaru, Estonia) clenching the match after pulling out a three-set win, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. Also notching wins were Khan and Russo.
The Bruins return to action on Saturday on the road at Dayton. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
