SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team improved their team score by 14 strokes and now stands in fifth place after two rounds of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate held on the Highlands Course at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tennessee.
The Bruins posted a team score of 304 on Tuesday to move up two spots into fifth place with a 36-hole score of 622. Jacksonville State maintain their first round lead at 605, while Marshall is second at 607.
Belmont has three golfers among the top-30. Sophomore Emma Kate Liu shot a 78 on Tuesday and now stands in a tie for 12th place at 152. Sophomore Carlee Nanney and freshman Ann Catherine Blackburn are tied for 26th place at 158. Nanney and Blackburn each carded a three-over par 75 in the second round.
Other Belmont scores after 36 holes included: freshman Maribeth Peevy (T-33, 83 and sophomore Julia Nittoli (T-35, 162).
Two Bruins are competing as individuals. Senior Mallory Sullivan is tied for 20th at 156, while fellow senior Maddie Williams is tied for 46th place at 166.
The third and final round will begin Tuesday morning with a 7:15am CT shotgun start.
