SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team finished in fourth place at this week's Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate held at the Highlands Course at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tennessee.
Belmont posted a team score of 310 in Tuesday's final round to move up one spot and finish the tournament in fourth place with a 54-hole score of 932. Jacksonville State won the team title with a mark of 902, while Marshall placed second at 913.
The Bruins were led by junior Emma Kate Liu. Liu shot a season-low 71 on Tuesday to finish the event in fifth place at 223. It was her second top-five finish of the season and her 223 was her lowest 54-hole score of the season.
Other Belmont scores from this week's tournament: sophomore Carlee Nanney (T-24, 238), freshman Ann Catherine Blackburn (T-28, 239), freshman Maribeth Peevy (T-31, 240), and sophomore Julia Nittoli (T-35, 242).
Two Bruins competed as individuals: senior Mallory Sullivan tied for 24th place at 238, while senior Maddie Williams placed 49th at 257.
Valentina Giraldo of Jacksonville State earned medalist honors as she shot a 210 over three days.
The women's golf team is off for 10 days before returning to the course on March 30-31 at the EKU Colonel Classic in Richmond, Kentucky.
