NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team is back in action with a pair of home matches this weekend, North Alabama on Saturday and Presbyterian on Sunday.
The Bruins enter the weekend with a 5-8 record after defeating crosstown rival Lipscomb 5-2 last Saturday. The win over the Bisons snapped a seven match losing streak for BU.
Sophomore Marko Ilic leads the Bruins with a 7-4 singles record this spring. Junior Hendrik Inno ranks second on the team with a 6-5 singles record.
Ilic and Inno are also the top doubles team on the squad. Ranked #45 in this week's ITA National Doubles Rankings, the duo are 7-3 for the season.
Saturday's opponent, the North Alabama Lions, are 0-9 after falling in the last match with Troy on March 1st, while the opponent for Sunday, Presbyterian, is 10-6 after beating USC Upstate on Thursday.
Saturday's match is set for a 6:00pm start, while Sunday's tilt is scheduled for a 12:00 noon start. Both matches will be at Centennial Sportsplex.
