NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Off their most dramatic win of the season on Tuesday, the Belmont University baseball team welcomes Wofford to the Music City this weekend for a three-game series. 

The Bruins and Terriers will face off at E.S. Rose Park on Friday at 2 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission is free.

Saturday and Sunday's games will be streamed live on ESPN+, with Rich Tiner on the radio call for Friday and the ESPN+ call on Sunday, and Noah Syverson on the call for Saturday's contest. Live audio play-by-play will also be simulcast on the Bruin Sports Network, live stats will be available at BelmontBruins.com, and in-game Twitter updates will be posted to @BelmontBaseball. 

What's Bruin 

  • Trailing WKU 7-3 with two outs in the ninth inning on Tuesday, Belmont rattled off three straight hits and four runs to send the game into extras, where Drew Lowry drew a bases-loaded walk to secure the walk-off win 

  • The game marked the first walk-off win for Belmont since 2020, and was the first extra-innings game of the season for the Bruins 

  • Belmont is now 4-0 in midweek games (Middle Tennessee, Lipscomb, Evansville, WKU) 

  • The projected weekend rotation for Belmont will be Joshua South (Friday), Andy Bean (Saturday), and Jalen Borders (Sunday) 

  • Sophomore center fielder Guy Lipscomb had a career-high four hits in the win on Tuesday, including a clutch RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning before scoring the tying run from second base on an infield single 

  • Lipscomb is currently second in the country in stolen bases (17) 

  • Senior closer Kyle Brennan leads the country in saves (8), and is one shy of tying the all-time career saves record at Belmont, held by Jon Ivie (26, 2008-11) 

  • Belmont is 11-3 at home this season 

  • Junior right-handed pitcher Joshua South is out to a stellar start to his 2022 campaign. The native of Cookeville, Tenn., is 2-0 in four starts with a 2.74 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched 

  • Sophomore lefty Jalen Borders is 1-0 in four starts with a 2.18 ERA. The Alexandria, Ala., native was ranked the No. 4 prospect in the OVC by Perfect Game prior to the start of the season 

  • Belmont pitchers have only given up nine home runs in 18 games 

  • Belmont is currently tied for third in the country in fielding percentage (.989), having only committed seven errors all season 

About the Terriers 

  • Wofford has won five in a row and seven of their last eight 

  • The Terriers are coming off an 8-1 win over Cincinnati on Tuesday 

  • Wofford won the SoCon regular season title last year, going 21-9 in league play 

  • Wofford is led by head coach Todd Interdonato (15th season) 

  • Wofford is second in the country in stolen bases, with 68 in 77 attempts this season 

  • The Terriers lead the country in sacrifice bunts (22) 

  • Wofford is 16th in the country in walks drawn (96) 

  • Jack Renwick is third in the country with 16 stolen bases this season, one fewer than Belmont's Guy Lipscomb (17) 

  • The Terriers have six players with at least six stolen bases 

Series History 

  • Belmont and Wofford have met four times, Belmont leads the all-time series, 3-1 

  • The teams first met in a three-game series in 1998, with Belmont winning 6-3, losing 0-12, and winning 7-5 in Spartanburg, South Carolina 

  • They last met in 1999, with Belmont winning 5-2 on the road 

  • This weekend marks the first time Wofford will play at E.S. Rose Park
