NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - All systems are still operationally sound! The Belmont Bruins have captured another win to push their streak to seven in a row! This tiem they vanquished the Xavier Musketeers: 6-1.
For the first time since Feb. 26 against Georgia Southern, the Bruins swept all three doubles matches. The first pair to finish line was senior Arthur Toledo and junior Jack Randall came away with their team-high seventh win together with a flurry of fine back end defense and furious services.
Next, the court three tandem of Taisei Miyamoto and Alfred Wallin kept wearing down their foes en route to their sixth win: 6-3. Finally, Tomas Luis and Diego Castro made their opponents uncomfortable with their quick tempo before clinching the sixth win of their spring campaign.
In singles, all but one Bruin earned two set victories. Don't be surprised, the Bruins came into this match having won 70-percent of their singles matches. Those percentages won't change after today.
The only change will be the Bruins win column. Belmont men's tennis has improved to 10-3 as they welcome conference rival Austin Peay to Nashville tomorrow at three p.m.
