NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's track and field team competed in Louisville, Kentucky all day Friday at the Bellarmine Classic. The Bruins saw 12 athletes compete in their in their first meet outside of the Music City.  Â
Meet action got underway with Jackson Grant and Robert Joseph in the shot put. Gran earned fourth overall with a distance of 15.36m and Joseph placed 10th overall with a distance of 14.06m.Â
In weight throw, Joseph claimed 14th at 14.59m and Grant earned 17th place with a distance of 13.52m.Â
In high jump, Noah Grimm set a program record,clearing a height of 2.05m.Â
Ian Robertson competed in long jump, claiming ninth overall, with a distance of 6.45m.Â
Roberston also competed in the 60m hurdles where he earned 14th overall, finishing in 8.96.Â
Pole vaulters Trey Collins and Payton Culp impressed, earning the top two spots, clearing a height of 4.45m.Â
Ethan Hammer secured second overall in the 3000m invite with a time of 8:12.60.Â
In the open 3000m, Zac Shaffer earned 13th overall with a time of 8:31.07. In 35th was Zach Brill in 8:48.68Â
Gavin Morrow ran in the one-mile run secured 17th overall crossing in 4:23.01. He also placed 14th in the 800m in 1:57.46.Â
The 200m dash saw Jayden Gray and Mathew Miller compete. Gray earned sixth overall, finishing in 22.14. Miller claimed 33rd in 23:59.Â
In 60m action, Gray earned fifth overall in 6.98 with Miller claiming 34th in 7.39.Â
