ATLANTA, Ga. – The Belmont University Women's Track & Field team started its outdoor season off strong at Georgia Tech's Yellow Jacket Invite in Atlanta as the Bruins set an array of personal records.
In one of the first events of the meet, sophomore
Sam Parker placed 4th in the javelin throw.
Jack Perry also earned a top spot in his field event, placing 3rd in the pole vault.
Distance runners made strides later in the day on Friday.
Reuben Macdonald hit a new PR of 3:55.27 in the 1500m. In the steeplechase,
Noah Epker won 1st place with a new personal best of 9:14.48.
Aaron Richter also performed well, placing 4th.
On Saturday morning,
Andrew Taylor placed 3rd in the men's high jump.
That afternoon, sprinter
Tezz Dozier hit 48.94 for a new personal best in the 400m.Â
Jayce Gray also ran well on Saturday, placing 5th in the 200m and running less than a tenth of a second off his personal best.
Up next, the Bruins prepare for their first outdoor travel meet with the Raleigh Relays beginning Thursday, March 26Â in North Carolina.
