NASHVILLE, Tenn. -Â Belmont University Men's Track & Field delivered numerous strong performances this weekend at the Outdoor Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt University.

Belmont was headlined by distance runnerÂ
Matty Mackay, who shattered his own school record in the 3000m in 8:09.67 to place first in the event. Mackay ran 13 seconds faster than the previous record, set at last season's Outdoor Music City Challenge.
Sam Shuman placed 3rd in the steeplechase with a time of 9:11.03.
The 1500m competition provided another Belmont bright spot, with two Bruins posting new personal bests. Junior
Reuben Macdonald ran a time of 3:54.71, and Freshman
Kiefer Jay ran 3:57.51.

In a late-night 5000m race, two addition distance athletes hit their own record times. Seniors
Noah Epker and
Zach Brill ran 14:39.19 and 14:41.22 respectively.

In Saturday morning's field events,
Andrew Taylor placed 1st in the high jump at a height of 2.05m.
Jack Perry also made it to the leaderboard in the pole vault, finishing 2nd with a jump of 5.00m
Daniel Crouse raced well in the 400m, winning his heat and setting a new PR of 49.24 seconds. In the 400m hurdles,
Dailin Siggers hit a new best time of 54.58 and placed 8th.
In a competitive all-Belmont heat of the men's 800m,
Reuben Macdonald PR'd, running 1:56.09.
Finally, Belmont's 4x400m relay team placed 5th, finishing at 3:19.44.
