NASHVILLE, Tenn. -Â The Belmont men's distance runners head to Raleigh, N.C. this week to compete at NC State's highly anticipated Raleigh Relays.
After opening the outdoor season at Georgia Tech last weekend, Head Coach
Jeff Langdon is excited for his team perform on a larger stage.
"The Raleigh Relays is one of the marquee events for collegiate distance running. The atmosphere surrounding this event is amazing. I believe our crew is ready to step up and compete well against this high-level competition," says Langdon.
Events will take place at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility. Freshman
Aaron Richter will open the weekend for the Bruins, competing in the 1500m. This is the first event of the meet and will begin shortly after 3 p.m. CST on Thursday.
Richter shares his thoughts going into the meet, saying, "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to compete at such a high caliber meet, and I am most excited to take a shot at the 1500."
Directly following the 1500m, the Bruins will have three athletes competing in the 3000m Steeplechase.
Zach Brill,
Sam Shuman, and
Noah Epker will all take to the starting line.
Later in the evening,Â
Drew Brill, Matty MacKay,
Andrew Hammel, and Reuben MacDonald will run the 5000m race and close out the meet for the Bruin men.
Live results will be provided by Flash Results. The meet will be streamed on ACC Network Extra, available through the ESPN app, ESPN.com, or a TV provider.
