OXFORD, Miss. – Highlighted by an impressive showing by the throws crew, the Belmont University men's track and field team completed day one of the Ole Miss Classic, held in Oxford, Mississippi with three Bruins achieving personal bests.Â
In hammer throw, Robert Joseph threw 48.12m, earning a personal best, with Jackson Grant doing the same, throwing 45.12m.Â
"The throws crew had a really great day, especially the hammer squad, who all had big PRs, making today a big step in the right direction," Frye said.Â
Ben and Bo Miller competed alongside Aidan Dinsbeer in the javelin throw.Â
Bo Miller earned a third-place finish with a throw of 58.98m with Ben Miller achieving a personal best, throwing 49.52m.Â
Overall Belmont showed very good consistency in that event.Â
In the long jump, Trey Collins grabbed third place, jumping 7.09m. Ian Robertson jumped 6.38m.Â
Mathew Miller crossed the line in 22.52 in the 200m.Â
