Azusa, Calif.– The Belmont men's track and field finished up its competition in California by competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University on Friday and Saturday. Seven Bruins competed against a variety of west coast teams and programs from across the country in their final two days of competing in the Golden State.Â
Noah Grimm was the Bruins' top finisher of the weekend. He claimed first place in the high jump, clearing a program record of 2.07m. The previous outdoor record of 2.04 was set by Grimm at the 2019 OVC Outdoor Championships.Â
On Friday, Jackson Grant was the only Bruin to compete, throwing in the discus and hammer throws. In hammer, he claimed a third-place finish in his flight with a throw of 49.83m and he threw 43.43m in discus.Â
On Saturday, he picked back up in shot put where he threw 15.27m, earning 10th place overall.Â
In the javelin throw, Bo Miller secured ninth with a heave of 55.02m and Ben Miller threw 43.17m.Â
Knox Perry and Payton Culp each cleared 4.60m in pole vault action.Â
Switching to running events, Jayden Gray earned second in his heat of the 200m dash with a time of 21.79 seconds.Â
