Men's Track and Field Powers Through the Hilltopper Relays

Bruins Experience Several Delays While in Competition at WKU

BOWLING GREEN, Kent. – The Belmont University men's track and field team has completed its third meet of the season after a weekend trip to Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Battling with the elements and other programs on the track, the Bruins spent their weekend competing in the Hilltopper Relays.

"We had the full menu of weather this weekend, and I'm proud of our athletes' attitudes and posture towards that kind of adversity," assistant coach Joe Frye said.

Robert Joseph and Jackson Grant began hammer throw on Friday.

Finishing eighth and ninth respectively, Joseph threw 47.17m with Grant following at 46.40m.

In shot put, Grant won the entire event with a throw of 15.57m. Joseph earned eighth, throwing 13.50m.

Moving to day two, Grant and Joseph also threw in discus. Grant earned fourth at 40.78m while Joseph secured sixth, throwing 39.93m as three Bruins competed in the javelin throw.

Bo earned first place, launching 54.01m and Ben earned second place with a throw of 44.24m.

Aidan Dinsbeer claimed seventh overall with a throw of 37.77m.

In the 100m, Jayden finished in 11 seconds in the preliminary round, securing a spot in the finals.

In those finals, Gray earned sixth overall, quickly crossing the finish line in 11.38 seconds.

"It was a long two days full of delays and changing conditions, but we capitalized where we could and some really great performances regardless," Frye added.
