NORMAL, Ill. -- On the final day of competition at the 2023 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships, the Belmont University men's track and field team earned two more medals, increasing its weekend total to four. Knox Perry and Eric Toviave collected bronze hardware in their respective events to close out the Bruin's action in Illinois.
Competing in pole vault, Perry cleared a height of 4.75m. Payton Culp competed alongside Perry, and he finished seventh overall after clearing 4.60m.
As the lone Bruin in the 400m Hurdle finals, Toviave made his presence known with by setting a new personal best as he crossed the finish line in 54.59.Â
Joel Wolf took on a deep field of the 1500m finals, finishing in seventh place in 3:58.85.
Both of Belmont's relay teams, the 4x100m and the 4x400m, finished in sixth place.
In the discus throw, Jackson Grant closed out his weekend with a heave of 45.14.
After their first appearance in the MVC Outdoor Championships, the Bruins finished in seventh place overall with 48 total points.
