NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Completing its third meet of the 2024 season, the Belmont University women's track and field team had an impressive showing on Friday at the Bellarmine Classic in Louisville, Kentucky. The Bruins placed third overall in a field of 22 teams with 66 points.Â
Top Performing Bruins
Rebekah Stucker headlined for the Bruins, claiming event wins in weight throw and shot put.
In weight throw, Stucker launched a personal best 67' 2.25" (20.48m) setting a new program in the event, topping the previous mark of 19.62m set by Logan Gray. Stucker's weight throw mark places her at No.32 on the NCAA's Indoor Qualifying List. She sits at No.2 in the Missouri Valley Conference with that throw.Â
In shot put, Stucker threw 47' 7.75" (14.52m) for her second top finish in Louisville.
Brooke Garter earned a win in the women's one mile run with a personal best time of 4:47.41. She sits at No.3 in the MVC with her finish.Â
Logan Gray placed second in each throwing category In weight throw, the Spartanburg, South Carolina native threw 63' 1.25" (19.23m). In shot put, Gray threw 47' 5.25" (14.46m).
Alexa Fortman ran a personal best in 2:13.19 in the 800m. Her performance places her at the No.4 spot in the MVC.Â
Rachel Soukup shined in her first collegiate mile and secured a top 10 finish with a time of 4:52.07. She currently sits at No.8 in the MVC with that mark.

The Bruins will have one week off before returning to action on Friday and Saturday Feb. 9 & 10 at the Vanderbilt Indoor Music City Challenge.
