LEXINGTON, Ky. – Making history as the first Belmont University women's track and field athlete to throw in the discus at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships East First Round, junior
Rebekah Stucker put a bow on the Bruins' highly-successful 2024 campaign Saturday afternoon.
For the first time in program history, Belmont had five athletes qualify for individual events (non-relays) at the NCAA Outdoor Championships East Preliminary meet. Stucker, one of three throwers who qualified for the NCAA Outdoor East First Round hosted on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, was the lone Bruin to earn a bid in two events.
After opening Belmont's NCAA postseason action in the Bluegrass State Thursday in the hammer throw, Stucker closed out the week in the discus. The Odessa, Missouri (Odessa HS), native had her best throw of the day on her second attempt, going for 138 feet, 10 inches (42.32m).
The Bruins will look to build off of this year's achievements next winter with the indoor season.
