Belmont Athletics Ranks Fourth in the Nation for Community Service Impact

Belmont student-athletes logged 7,518 community service hours during the 2023-24 academic year.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University Athletic Department ranked fourth in the nation in Helper Helper's annual rankings for community impact by NCAA Division I institutions as announced by the organization last week.

For the 2023-24 school year, Belmont student-athletes logged 7,518 hours of community service, which ranked fourth nationally behind Boston College, Louisiana, and South Alabama.  Belmont was the only MVC team and Tennessee based team to earn a spot in the top-25 rankings.

In total, Belmont student-athletes served 26 community organizations for an economic impact calculated by Helper Helper of $239,229.

"How can you not be proud of these amazing student-athletes, coaches, and staff and the impact they had on the community this year, locally and globally," said Ryan Neises, Belmont's Director of Student-Athlete Formation.  "We obviously don't serve to get recognition, but this ranking is a great indication of our commitment to loving others and being a light in the community."

Several Belmont teams ranked in the top five in their respective sports.  The baseball team ranked number one in their sport and number three among all men's teams in Division I.

Other Belmont teams ranked in the top 10 in their sport included:
Softball – 2nd
Men's Cross Country/Track and Field – 2nd
Volleyball – 5th
Women's Cross Country/Track and Field – 6th
