Men's Track and Field Wraps Up Weekend at Vanderbilt Invitational

Jack Perry and Zach Brill Set Program Records

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University Men's Track & Field team competed at the Vanderbilt Invitational over the weekend with the Bruins represented in 12 different events.

Freshman Jack Perry continued to amaze in his second meet and came out on top in the pole vault and set a new indoor program record with a 4.93-meter performance. 

Graduate Student Trey Collins tied Arkansas State's Brandon Love for sixth place with a 4.51-meter finish.

The Bruins had five other top 10 placements.

Collins placed top 10 in long jump with a mark of 6.71 meters.

Senior Jackson Grant took seventh place in shot put with 14.74 meters.

Meanwhile on the track, junior Zach Brill set a new program record in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:27.59 to earn him eighth place. Senior Kevin Vanderkolk finished the 800 meters with a time of 1:52.00 giving him ninth place.

Redshirt senior Nick Mota ran an 8:12.32 for eighth place in the 3,000 meters.

The Bruins return to action at the end of the month for the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational at Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Ky.
