Baseball Faces In-State Foe MTSU

Bruins Visit Blue Raiders Following Weekend Series Win at Little Rock

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont (4-12) returns to action Wednesday at MTSU (9-6) First pitch from Reese Smith Jr. Field is set for 4 p.m. CT. Fans can stream the game on ESPN+ or listen live to Rich Tiner on Belmont Bruins Radio.

  • Belmont enters the game fresh off their series win at Little Rock, the first of the season.
  • Charlie Davis is second on the team with 20 hits. The second baseman leads the team in the last 10 games in hits (14), doubles (14) and stolen bases (6). Davis was on fire over the weekend, posting a team-high .615 batting average, .667 on-base percentage, .769 slugging percentage and eight hits.
  • Davis leads the Bruins with six multi-hit games, including multi-hit performances in all three games at Little Rock.
  • Pete Daniel had six hits - .400 batting average – a team-high three doubles and stole two bases against Little Rock. Daniel brings a team-high 16-game on-base stream into Wednesday's contest.

Scouting Report: MTSU Blue Raiders
  • MTSU fell to Tennessee Tech 13-3 in seven innings on Tuesday night. The Blue Raiders' pitching staff issued ten walks and allowed ten earned runs.
  • The Blue Raiders swept Oakland in a three-game series at Reese Smith Jr. Field March 7-9. Drew Horn threw a no-hitter – the fifth in program history – on Sunday with 13 strikeouts. Horn was named the College Baseball Hall of Fame and National College Baseball Writers Association Pitcher of the Week.
  • Eston Snider leads the team with a .450 batting average, 27 hits and eight stolen bases. Snider owns a .667 slugging percentage and .528 on-base percentage.

  • Belmont is 20-51 against Belmont all-time and 10-26 since becoming a member of NCAA Division I.
  • The Bruins and Blue Raiders split their previous two-game series in 2023. Belmont won the first matchup 10-7 on Feb. 28, 2023, in Murfreesboro. MTSU defeated the Bruins 8-4 on April 25, 2023.
