ATLANTA – The Belmont University women's track and field team started its outdoor season off strong at Georgia Tech's Yellow Jacket Invite in Atlanta as the Bruins saw 10 athletes finish in the top 10 along with a broken school record.
Graduate student
Rebekah Stucker led the way with three top 10 finishes. Stucker earned third place in shot put, fourth in the hammer throw and seventh in the discus throw.
Senior
Logan Gray – also with three top 10 finishes - placed fourth in shot put, and eighth in both the hammer throw and discus throw.
Sophomore
Alexa Fortman broke another 800m record, placing seventh with a time of 2:08.83.
Graduated student
Brooke Garter finished in fifth place in the 1500m, running for 4:25.61.
Sophomore
Carson Wasemiller earned second place, at 11:38.20, in the 300m steeplechase.
Junior
Kierstin Roy also showed up in the shot put, finishing in 10th place.
The Bruins prepare for their first multi-meet weekend with the Raleigh Relays beginning Thursday in North Carolina and the Hilltopper Relays getting underway Friday in the Bluegrass State.
