CARBONDALE, Ill. - - Belmont University men's track and field took care of business on Day 1 of the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships from Lew Hartzog Track & Field Complex.

The Bruins had five Top 4 finishes.

Most notably
Sam Parker earned silver in the javelin with a mark of 64.50m, eclipsing his season-best by nearly seven meters.
Â
Kevin Vanderkolk earned bronze in a very competitive 3000m steeplechase field in a time of 8:58.56.
Zach Brill placed fourth in 9:00.74.

Jack Perry placed fourth in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.98 meters, narrowly missing out on the podium based on earlier clearances.

Ethan Hammer finished fourth in the 10,000m.

Belmont will also be busy on Sunday, with several Bruins earning placement in event finals.

Morgan Lewis remained on form in the 400m hurdles, qualifying second.

Austin Belle and Vince Flegeance also qualified for the 200m final and 400m hurdles final, respectively.

Belmont stands fourth in the team standings after Day 1 with 35 points.
