Belmont -after sweeping Evansville on the road last weekend - carries a season-high seven-game win streak into the weekend. - Ty Allen was named MVC Player of the Week for May 5. Allen led the Bruins with a .571 batting average and eight hits from May 2-4 against Evansville. He launched two home runs in Belmont's 13-8 win in game two, totaling three hits and four RBIs on the day. He capped off the series with another three-hit performance, including a double and two RBIs in Sunday's series finale
- Pete Daniel's name is all over the MVC statistical leaderboard. Daniel ranks third in batting average (.369), tied for third in stolen bases (19) and tied for fourth in hits (65).
- Charlie Davis' team-high 22 stolen bases are the second most in the MVC.
- Joe Ruzicka owns a team-best 3.00 ERA, the lowest in the MVC. He's the only qualified pitcher in the conference to hold opponents below a .200 batting average, at a dominant .179 mark. Ruzicka leads the team with 66 innings pitched and 58 strikeouts. Ruzicka's quality start on May 2 at Evansville was the fourth time he has thrown at least seven innings and allowed no runs in a conference start, all in the last five starts.
- Belmont's seven-game win streak is the team's longest stretch since 2023.
- Belmont will recognize seven members of the team in a pregame Senior Day ceremony before Sunday's game.
Scouting Report: Murray State Racers
- Murray State boasts one of the top offenses in the MVC. The Racers lead the conference in team batting average (.302), walks (276) and on-base-percentage (.418). The team ranks second in runs (385), doubles (111) and triples (14).
- Four Racers are batting about .300 this season. Dom Decker leads the team with a .367 batting average, followed by Luke Mistone (.349), Jonathan Hogart (.335) and Dustin Mercer (.300)
- Starting pitcher Nic Schutte leads the Racers' pitching staff in innings (62), strikeouts (62) and wins (5). Schutte owns a team-best 3.34 ERA and holds opponents to a .213 batting average.
