NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Four Belmont men's golfers,
Jack Darke,
Grey Goff,
Chris Harpum, and
Foster Wood were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Jack Darke is a sophomore with a 3.70 GPA in Business. The Georgia native competed in eight events and had a 76.2 scoring average. He had two top-30 finishes this season.
Grey Goff is also a sophomore with a 3.76 GPA in Accounting. He competed in 11 events this season and had 76.1 average. He posted two top-35 finishes and had a season-best T-for 20
th at the Nassau Intercollegiate.
Chris Harpum wrapped up his sophomore season with a 3.75 GPA in Business. The Kentucky native played in 12 events and led the team in scoring with a 74.3 average. He had six top-35 finishes with his best finish coming at the MVC Championship where he tied for sixth.
Foster Wood is a graduate student with a 3.75 GPA while working on his Masters in Accounting. The Signal Mountain, Tennessee native earned All-MVC honors with a 75.4 average and two top-25 finishes. His best showing was a runner-up finish at the MVC Championship in April.
Overall, 11 Belmont men's golfers have garnered the award in the Division I era.
To earn Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). He must have participated in at least 75 percent of his team's games during the regular season. No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and been on a college roster in that sport for two years. For transfers, graduate students, and two-year college graduates, the student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution to be eligible, although graduate students who are competing at a different institution than the one from which they earned their undergraduate degree are eligible even if they are in their first semester at the graduate institution. Nominees in graduate school must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above both as an undergrad and in grad school.
