FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Senior men's golfer
Conner Brown captured the 2025 Tennessee State Match Play Championship Friday afternoon at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee.
Brown, a Shelbyville, Tennessee native, defeated Trenton Johnson in the final 4 & 3 to capture his first Tennessee Golf Association (TGA) championship.
In the final, Brown went 2 down after the second hole, but stormed back, winning four of the next five holes, to take a 2-up lead after nine holes. On the back nine, he extended his lead to 3-up after the 11
th hole and then closed it out with victory on 15.
With the victory, Conner becomes the first Belmont men's golfer to capture Tennessee's Match Play Championship in Belmont's Division I era.
Brown reached the finals with a comeback victory over Will Jackson in the semifinals on Friday morning. He tied the match on the 18
th hole with a birdie and then birdied 18 again in the playoff to advance to the finals.
