NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University director of cross country and track and field
Jeff Langdon released the program's fall cross country schedule Wednesday afternoon.
An annual fixture in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South Region polls, the Bruins are once again slated to participate in several of the top meets in the nation.
Â
"I believe this schedule is going to provide a huge benefit for our teams toward the end of the season," Langdon said. "Last year's schedule included numerous long-distance trips which may have taken its toll on the team during the latter part of the season. We will face great competition at top venues, which will prepare us for peak performance at conference and regionals."
The season will commence in traditional fashion - the Friday of Labor Day Weekend on Aug. 29 - with the Belmont Opener at Percy Warner Park in Nashville.
Â
Thereafter, the Bruins will head to nearby Huntsville, Alabama, for the Southern Showcase meet Sept. 12. Belmont men placed second and Belmont women placed fourth in last year's edition.
Â
From there, Belmont will get an advanced look at the 2005 NCAA National Championship race course, taking part in the prestigious Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri. The Bruins last entered the race in 2021.
October begins with the familiar venue of the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Two years ago,
Ethan Hammer and
Brooke Garter shined as both Bruin teams earned top-three finishes.
The Bruins will seek tricks and treats on Halloween as the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championship is scheduled for Oct. 31 in Evansville, Indiana.
Â
Belmont combined to have eight All-MVC honorees last year, with team podium finishes on both the men's and women's side.
Â
The 2025 NCAA Division I South Regional Championships are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14 at the John Hunt Cross Country Running Park in Huntsville, Alabama.
