TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Belmont men's cross country team wrapped up their 2024 season with an 11th-place finish at the NCAA South Regional meet on Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
The Bruins placed all seven runners in the top 100, finishing with 280 points. Alabama captured the team title with 80 points, sweeping the top three spots. Ole Miss took second with 91 points, followed by Tennessee in third with 109 points.
Leading the way for Belmont was Nick Mota, who placed 42nd with a time of 31:15.6.Â
Andrew Hammel set a personal best of 31:23.6 to secure 50th place, while Ethan Hammer crossed the line in 55th, clocking 31:28.8. Kevin Vanderkolkfollowed closely, finishing 57th with a time of 31:31.1.
Carter Cheeseman placed 76th with a time of 31:57.3, while Zac Shaffer and Matty Mackay rounded out the Bruins' lineup in 86th (32:14.6) and 98th (32:32.9), respectively.
The individual title went to Dismus Lokira of Alabama, who ran an impressive 29:30.8.

This meet marks the conclusion of a successful season for Belmont. The Bruins earned top-10 finishes in four meets and set a new program standard in the 8K. A quartet of Bruins broke the previous school record set by Jacob McLeod in 2018, with Carter Cheeseman now holding the record at 23:29.8.
