KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the fourth consecutive year, the Belmont University men's soccer program has been recognized by United Soccer Coaches for its outstanding work in the classroom. The Bruins have earned the coaches association's Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year, as announced earlier in August.

It marks the 12th time in program history Belmont has collected the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award.

The Bruins posted a 3.575 team grade point average in 2024-25, including achieving an impressive 3.73 team GPA during the spring semester.

Senior midfielders
AJ Chastonay and
Brad Dildy, along with junior defender
AJ Elliott, were named to the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Teams and a record six Belmont student-athletes were tabbed Academic All-District
® by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Joining Chastonay and Dildy as 2024 Academic All-District
® selections were senior defender
Alex Clayton, junior midfielder
Oscar Hough, senior defender
Alex Johnson and redshirt junior forward
Jimiyu Mark.

Annually, United Soccer Coaches awards collegiate soccer programs at all levels for their exemplary performance in the classroom. To garner United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award status, a program must maintain a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.

The Bruins are off to a 2-0 start and return to match action this weekend at Ivy League staple Harvard.

Belmont has earned a result in five of its last six matches dating back to the end of last season.
