NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Belmont women's cross country team finished 16th out of 26 teams in an extremely competitive field at the Gans Creek Classic hosted by Mizzou.
The Bruins raced against national contenders Kansas, Maine, Nebraska, San Diego State, Texas Tech, Washington University St. Louis, and others.
Freshman
Sophie Nicholls had an impressive performance, running 21:52.4 in her first collegiate 6K.
Clara Crain finished close behind at 21:57.2, a personal best by 5.3 seconds.
Lilie Fouts also ran a personal best, beating her finish from last year's MVC Cross Country Championship meet by 8 seconds.
