NASHVILLE, Tenn. -Â The Belmont University Women's Track & Field team took part in the Vanderbilt Invitational in their home city over the weekend.
Opening up the meet for the Bruins was freshman
Isabella Piette, competing in the women's weight throw. Piette threw 14.99m to place 8th.
On Saturday, freshman
Sophie Nicholls finished 12th out of 65 participants in the women's mile with a time of 4:54.59. She was followed by teammate
Lilie Fouts, who placed 14th.
In the 800m,
Bella Domier made her return with a 23rd placed finish in the 800m out of 51 runners.
The day rounded out with a 15th place finish in the 4x400m relay for the Bruins, with a team comprised of
Alexa Fortman,
Leah Howard,
Jennifer Mims, and
Devin Moore.
The Bruins return to action next weekend for the Crossroads of America Invite at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center in Indianapolis, Ind.
