ALGIERS, La. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Gulf Coast Collegiate held this week at English Turn Golf and Country Club outside New Orleans.
Belmont shot a final round 299 to finish the tournament with a score of 918. Augusta won the team title with a mark of 898. Loyola-Chicago placed second at 914, with St. John's in third at 916.
Three Bruins finished among the top-25 at this week's event. Senior
Conner Brown and junior
Jack Darke each tied for seventh place at 227. Brown posted a final round 74, while Darke carded an even par round of 72. They finished two strokes back of the tri-medalists, Joseph Dolezal of St. John's, Chapman Barnett and Pieter Rossouw of Augusta (225).
Junior
Chris Harpum finished in a tie for 23rd place at 232. He shot a final round 78 on Tuesday.
Fellow junior
Grant Clark tied for 26
th at 233, while graduate student
Colin Nasser tied for 37
th place at 237.
Sophomore
Brennan Cozad, competing as an individual, tied for 37
th at 237.
The men's golf team takes a couple of weeks off before returning to competition on March 12-14 at the The Peoples Championship in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
