Baseball Travels to Tennessee Tech on Wednesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Belmont Bruins baseball hit the road Wednesday for a midweek matchup against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles baseball at Bush Stadium in Cookeville. First pitch is scheduled for the afternoon as Belmont looks to carry momentum from a strong week of play.

The Bruins enter the contest coming off an impressive stretch highlighted by a comeback victory during their weekend series against Wofford. Belmont showed resilience throughout the week, with timely hitting and key bullpen performances helping the Bruins secure important wins.

Belmont also received individual recognition from the Missouri Valley Conference following last week's performances. Shortstop Cavan McMeans was named MVC Newcomer of the Week after delivering a strong offensive showing across four games. McMeans hit .429 at the plate with six hits in 14 at-bats, driving in five runs and scoring three times. Also, added a solo home run in the series finale against Wofford and posted a .500 on-base percentage while providing steady defense up the middle.

On the mound, freshman right-hander McKale Stevenson earned MVC Freshman of the Week honors. Stevenson appeared in both the midweek contest against Middle Tennessee and in relief during Belmont's weekend series against Wofford. Across his outings, Stevenson recorded three strikeouts while allowing just two hits. His key relief appearance in Game 2 against Wofford helped keep the Bruins within striking distance before Belmont rallied in the final innings for the win.

The Bruins will look to continue their strong play on both sides of the ball as they face a Tennessee Tech squad that has historically produced competitive midweek battles. Belmont aims to build on its recent momentum while continuing to develop depth both at the plate and on the mound.
