Baseball Travels to Birmingham for Weekend Series Against UAB

Bruins Are Coming Off a Great Mid-Week Win Against Tennessee Tech.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont baseball travels to Birmingham, Alabama this weekend for a non-conference series against UAB. The three-game set begins Friday, March 13, at Young Memorial Field.

Belmont enters the weekend with momentum following an 11-7 victory over Tennessee Tech on Wednesday. The Bruins' offense has found its stride, led by sophomore Jake Maddox, who is batting .347 with a team-high three triples and a .531 slugging percentage. Senior Charlie Davis continues to be a force at the top of the order, maintaining a .342 average and a .453 on-base percentage while leading the team in runs scored (16) and walks (12).

The Bruins' depth has been bolstered by several key contributors in recent weeks Brady Holbrook has emerged as a high-impact bat, boasting a .400 average and a .667 slugging percentage over his first nine appearances. Cavan McMeans a mainstay in the lineup, McMeans leads the team in doubles (4) and has been a reliable run producer with 10 RBIs. Landon Godsey providing veteran power, Godsey is currently tied for the team lead in home runs and has been a steady presence in the heart of the order.

On the mound, Tate Marland leads the staff with three wins, while the bullpen has been anchored by Ridge Harvey, who has made eight appearances and struck out 13 batters in 11.2 innings of work.

  • UAB enters with a 10-7 record and are returning home following a midweek 17-2, loss to #6 Auburn.
