ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Sophomore women's golfer
Sloane Biddle has been named Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Golfer of the Week as announced by the conference office on Thursday. This is the third time she has won the award this season and her fifth time overall.
Biddle earned the honor as she captured the individual title at the Huntsville Intercollegiate earlier this week in Alabama. The Old Hickory, Tennessee native carded rounds of 71-74-69 for a 214 total to win by three strokes. The Bruins finished in a tie for third place as a team.
It's Sloane's second career individual title and she becomes just the fifth Belmont golfer to win two career individual titles joining
Chloe Tarkany,
Delia Gibbs, Cameron Fish, and
Lorie Warren.
In addition, her score of 214 (-3) is tied for the second lowest 54-hole score in program and the second lowest score in relation to par.
For the season, Biddle leads the team with a 73.2 average with three top-five in six events. She also ranks first in scores of par or better with four.
The women's golf team will be back in action on March 23-24 at the Nashville Invitational at Hermitage Golf Club in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
