Baseball Set to Rematch Western Kentucky in Mid-Week Game in Bowling Green

Bruins are Coming off Another Successful Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky, -- Fresh off a productive weekend in conference play, the Belmont Bruins returns to non-conference action Tuesday with a road matchup against Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Nick Denes Field. First pitch is set for the evening as Belmont looks to build on momentum after taking both ends of a doubleheader at Murray State.

Belmont enters the matchup after scoring 21 runs in its last two victories, powered by one of its most complete offensive performances of the season. The Bruins collected 26 hits during the doubleheader and received major production throughout the lineup, highlighted by Cavan McMeans and Landon Godsey in the middle of the order.

McMeans enters the midweek contest swinging one of the hottest bats on the roster, batting .500 over the last four games with eight hits in 16 at-bats, including two doubles, one triple, two home runs, and eight RBIs. His 18 total bases and 1.125 slugging percentage have fueled Belmont's recent offensive surge.

Charlie Davis has also been a catalyst at the top of the lineup, batting .533 with eight hits, five runs scored, two doubles, and a home run. Davis has consistently created early scoring opportunities and helped Belmont establish quick starts offensively.

Landon Godsey provides additional power entering Tuesday after hitting three home runs over the last four games while driving in five runs and drawing four walks. His ability to reach base and impact the game in run-producing situations continues to give Belmont depth in the heart of the order.

Brady Holbrook adds another steady presence offensively, batting .313 with five hits, four runs scored, and a home run, while Isaac VanderWoude delivered one of the key swings of the weekend with a two-run homer that helped Belmont regain control in Game 2 against Murray State.

On the mound, Belmont could turn to several available arms after receiving strong pitching throughout the weekend. McKale Stevenson is coming off a complete-game seven-inning win in which he allowed just one run on four hits while striking out eight. Belmont's bullpen also delivered critical innings from Krish Gandhi and Brooks McDonnough, who combined to help secure the second game of the doubleheader.

The Bruins will look to carry over recent momentum against a Western Kentucky club that traditionally presents one of the stronger midweek challenges on the schedule. Limiting extra-base hits and continuing early offensive pressure will be key for Belmont away from home.
