NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Belmont University Women's Soccer hits the road for a rescheduled conference match against Tennessee Tech University. The Bruins are coming off a win 1-0 against Murray State University, the Bruins third conference win of the season. 

Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. 

What's Bruin

  • This is the first time since 2011 that the Bruins have started the season 3-0 in conference play

  • The Bruins are on a three game shutout streak in OVC conference play 

  • Belmont Women's Soccer is ranked first in the OVC for shutout percentage as well as shot accuracy

  • Andrea Leitner recorded her third shutout against Murray State making it her fourth of the season

  • Leitner claimed named back-to-back OVC Goalkeeper of the week awards and leads the OVC in shutouts, save percentage, and goals against average

  • Maci Pekmezian leads the OVC and is ranked in the top 35 in the nation for game winning goals

  • Pekmezian recorded her third game winning goal with just over a minute to play against Murray State on Thursday

  • Pekmezian received a pass from Rachel Vernon near the midfield, she then got past two defenders and took a shot at the top of the eighteen soaring past the Racer's goalkeeper

  • Belmont recorded 7 shots, 5 saves, including two team saves by Keely Cartrett and Loren House, and 3 corner kicks against Murray State

  • The Bruins defeated Austin Peay 2-0 with goals scored by Natalie Haverland and Mai Thy Nguyen claiming their first goals of the season for the Bruins

  • Belmont also defeated SEMO 1-0 in the first conference matchup of the season with the game winning goal scored by Pekmezian 

  • The Bruins lead the Golden Eagles 11-9-2 in the all-time series matchup

  • In their most recent matchup, the Bruins claimed victory over Tennessee Tech 1-0 in 2020

  • Haley Poynter scored for the Bruins this match making it her first career goal

Belmont University returns home for their Most Valuable Professor match against Morehead State Thursday, October 14 at E.S. Rose Park. Kickoff is set for 6:30.
