NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Belmont University Women's Soccer heads to Charleston, Illinois to take on OVC opponent Eastern Illinois in their sixth conference match.

- The Bruins head into tomorrow's match 4-1 in conference and 6-5-1 overall tying for first in the conference with UT Martin
- Belmont Women's Soccer remains ranked first in the OVC for shutout percentage, save percentage, and shot accuracy
- Belmont University claimed victory over Morehead State 2-1 with both goals scored by defender Loren House
- Both goals were scored off set pieces finding the feet of House
- Riley Casey earned her first assist of the season on the first goal
- Natalie Haverland and Rachel Vernon were accredited the assit for the second goal
- Andrea Leitner recorded her fourth OVC shutout against Morehead State making it her fifth of the season
- The Bruins recorded seven shots, four saves, and three corner kicks in their victory over Morehead Statee
- On Tuesday the Bruins fell to the Golden Eagles 2-1, their only OVC loss of the season
- The sole goal of the match was scored by Rachel Vernon after a free kick that was bobbled through the eighteen finding the feet of Vernon to score for the Bruins
- The Golden Eagle's goals were the first goal scored on the Bruins since September 16, 2021, and remain the only goals scored on Leitner since conference play began
- The Bruins recorded six shots, two saves, and three corner kicks against the Golden Eagles
- Leitner claimed named back-to-back OVC Goalkeeper of the week awards and leads the OVC in shutouts and goals against average
- Maci Pekmezian leads the OVC and is ranked in the top 35 in the nation for game winning goals
- Pekmezian recorded her third game winning goal with just over a minute to play against Murray State last Thursday in 1-0 victory
- The Bruins lead the Panthers 8-3 in the all-time series matchup
- At their last meeting in the spring of 2021 Belmont defeated Eastern Illinois 3-0
- The Bruins tallied seven shots in the first twenty minutes of the match, two of the three goals were scored in the first half
- Goals were scored by Erin Patterson, her first goal at Belmont, Rachel Vernon off of a header, and Anna Sweeney, her first career goal
