NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Belmont University Women's Soccer hits the road in a matchup against Jacksonville State University, Thursday, September 8. 

Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

What's Bruin

  • Due to Covid positive cases within the Mississippi State team the Bruins did not compete this past Sunday.
  • Belmont Women's Soccer is ranked first in the Ohio Valley Conference for shot accuracy as well as corner kicks per game
  • Belmont finished their 3-game homestand falling 1-0 to Western Kentucky University.
  • The Bruins heavily controlled majority of the possession against WKU but were not able to capitalize on any scoring opportunities
  • Goalie Sarah Doyle recorded 6 saves with 8 shots against her
  • The Bruins offense recorded 7 shots against the WKU defense
  • WKU scored off of a free kick
  • The Bruins defeated Detroit Mercy last Sunday in a thrilling 3-2 win with the last goal scored off of a cross sent in by Kayla Monis with a minute left in regulation
  • The first goal of the match was scored by Erin Patterson off of a breakaway pass up the line from Avery Nowak
  • The tying goal was scored by House who was able to capitalize off of a corner kick sent in by Pettit
  • The Bruins competed against Houston Baptist University winning in overtime with Rachel Vernon's golden goal in the ninety seventh minute
  • The Bruins capitalized on a corner kick sent in by Erin Patterson and was headed into the back of the net by Rachel Vernon
  • The competition against Houston Baptist marks the second golden goal victory this season for the Bruins
  • The Bruins are tied with the Gamecocks 7-7 in the all-time series matchup
  • In their most recent matchup, the Bruins won 2-1 in Overtime.
  • The Bruins were down 1-0 until the seventy-seventh minute when Avery Nowak scored from Taylor Dorenkott's assist
  • Keely Cartrett scored the game winning golden goal off of a free kick from Rachel Vernon
  • In 2019 Niki Clements recorded a hattrick against Jacksonville State one of only 11 in program history and the first since 2009
