NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Belmont University Women's Soccer hits the road again in a matchup against Southeast Missouri University opening Ohio Valley Conference play, Sunday, September 26. 

Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.

What's Bruin

  • Belmont Women's Soccer remains ranked first in the Ohio Valley Conference for shot accuracy as well as corner kicks per game for the second consecutive week
  • The Bruins competed last Thursday against Jacksonville State they entered their third overtime appearance of the season and tallied their first tie 1-1 of the season
  • Avery Nowak sent a corner kick into the center of the box, Loren House was able to get a foot on it to send it past the Gamecocks goalie to score the only goal of the match for the Bruins
  • Belmont recorded 10 shots on the night, 8 saves, and 6 corner kicks
  • Belmont finished their 3-game homestand falling 1-0 to Western Kentucky University
  • Goalie Sarah Doyle recorded 6 saves with 8 shots against her
  • The Bruins offense recorded 7 shots against the WKU defense
  • The Bruins defeated Detroit Mercy last Sunday in a thrilling 3-2 win with the last goal scored off of a cross sent in by Kayla Monis with a minute left in regulation

  • The tying goal was scored by House who was able to capitalize off of a corner kick sent in by Patterson

  • The Bruins capitalized on a corner kick sent in by Erin Patterson and was headed into the back of the net by Rachel Vernon
  • The competition against Houston Baptist marks the second golden goal victory this season for the Bruins
  • The Bruins are against the 2-8-5 Redhawks in the all-time series matchup
  • In their most recent matchup, the Bruins fell to SEMO 1-0 in 2020
  • In 2019 the Bruins fell 2-1 to the Redhawks
  • Two minutes after the Redhawks scored the first goal of the game Rachel Vernon scored the sole goal of this match
