NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Finishing up its second meet of the 2024 season, the Belmont University women's track and field team completed the Vanderbilt Invitational with an impressive Saturday showing.
Four Bruins competed across two separate pools in shot put action. In the shot put invite, Logan Gray shined, setting a program record with a strong throw of 14.85m.
Rebekah Stucker, Olivia Moyer and Kierstin Roy competed in the open shot put. Stucker, who competed after Gray, broke the record set earlier on Saturday with a huge heave of 14.94m, securing fifth place. Moyer threw 12.97m while Roy launched 12.32m.
Three Bruins competed in pole vault in two separate pools. In the pole vault invite, Tyra Finkeldey tied for first place, clearing 3.94m. In the open vault, Nicola van der Merwe secured fourth place at 3.55m. Kaitlyn Thorne jumped 3.40m.
Grace Litzinger blazed to the fourth spot overall in the 3000m with a program record time of 9:36.15. Carson Wasemiller finished in 10:14.31.
Brooke Garter and Brooke Stromsland took on the mile. Garter finished atop her heat in 4:51.22, while Stromsland took third in her respective heat in 4:58.01.
In the 400m, Sarah Richmond ran 58.19, while Michella Diebenow ran 59.77 as Sophia Harvey ran 59.86.
Alexa Fortman led her heat in the 800m in 2:15.10, while Savanah Balcerak finished in 2:18.73.
Emory Moore ran 7.96 in the first round of the 60m dash.
Diebenow ran 8.89 in the first round of the 60m hurdles.
In the 4x400m relay, Richmond, Harvey, Balcerak and Fortman ran 3:58.17.

The Bruins will have one week off before returning to action on Friday, Feb. 2 at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
