ST. LOUIS -
Brooke Garter of Belmont and Nathan Quinn of Murray State are this week's featured student-athletes for the MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, presented by State Farm.Â
Brooke has enjoyed a standout cross country season, highlighted by breaking Belmont's previous 5K record at the Southern Showcase and leading the Bruins at the NCAA South Regional Championship. Her achievements extend beyond the course, as she was named to the MVC Cross Country Scholar-Athlete Team and honored with the 2024 State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award.
To qualify for the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing.
Redshirt freshmen and first-year junior college transfers are not eligible. In addition to the academic qualifications, student-athletes are evaluated on their campus involvement and community service.
